PILATES CLASSES
MAT/CORE CLASS:
A gentle class designed specifically for beginners or those with low to moderate chronic pain. Ideal for seniors, more sedentary participants or those who are new to Pilates. Designed to improve joint mobility, general strength, posture and balance. The basic principles of Pilates including breathing and body awareness are highlighted in this class. Four to ten per class. 1 hour.
MAT/MOVE CLASS:
Suitable for active beginners and intermediate level participants and those with low level, non-acute pain. A wonderful transition for participants who have been attending our ‘MAT–CORE’ classes and are ready to further challenge their core control, strength and balance. Suitable for those who have progressed from our individualised ‘Studio-Pilates program and are ready to progress to a more challenging format. Four to ten per class. 1 hour.
OSTEOPOROSIS CLASS:
A class suitable for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis. Ideal for both men and women over the age of 50 and for those unable to exercise in our mat/floor classes due to physical restrictions. Emphasising weight resistance training, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular fitness. Maximum of 10 per class. 1 hour.
FITBALL:
A class directed towards improving flexibility, core control and overall body conditioning. The Fitball is an adaptable piece of equipment which can be used to assist the body to achieve greater flexibility and joint mobility. By providing an unstable base a Fitball can be effectively utilised to challenge postural control and general strength. Maximum of 10 per class. 1 hour.
STUDIO/EQUIPMENT PILATES:
Utilising our state of the art ‘Balanced Body’ Pilates equipment. Working in small groups (maximum 3 people) Kingsley Studio provides a more individualised Pilates program – suitable for post surgical rehabilitation and chronic or recurrent spinal pain, workers compensation or motor vehicle accident. Participants will undergo a one-on-one physiotherapy assessment prior to commencing these focused treatment programs.
FEES
All treatment programs at Kingsley Studio (shown below) are conducted by qualified physiotherapists (not exercise physiologists) and are eligible for a rebate from your private health insurer.
Following your initial assessment, further one-on-one sessions may be recommended prior to commencing studio group sessions (one-on-three).
